DIY How to make an Among Us board game for 6 players

Among Us is a popular social deduction game that can be played online with up to 15 players. However, it is also possible to create a physical board game version of Among Us that can be played with 6 players or more.

To make an Among Us board game, you will need the following materials:

  • A large piece of cardboard or poster board
  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Dice
  • Playing pieces (such as coins or small toys)
  • Task cards
  • Impostor cards

Instructions:

  1. Draw a map of the Skeld spaceship on the cardboard or poster board. The map should include all of the rooms and hallways on the spaceship.
  2. Cut out task cards for each of the tasks that can be completed on the Skeld spaceship. You can find a list of tasks online.
  3. Cut out impostor cards. You will need one impostor card for every 6 players.
  4. Set up the board game by placing the task cards and impostor cards in the center of the board. Give each player a playing piece.
  5. One player will be the moderator. The moderator will deal out the task cards and impostor cards to the players. The moderator will also be responsible for keeping track of the game and announcing the results of each round.

Gameplay:

The game begins with the players taking turns moving their playing pieces around the board. Players can move to any room on the board, but they cannot move through walls.

On their turn, a player can either:

  • Complete a task: If a player is in a room with a task, they can attempt to complete the task by rolling a die and getting a certain number. If the player is successful, they will remove the task card from the board.
  • Call a meeting: If a player suspects that another player is an impostor, they can call a meeting. During a meeting, players can discuss their suspicions and vote to eject another player from the game.

If all of the tasks are completed before the impostors can kill enough crewmates, the crewmates win. If the impostors are able to kill enough crewmates, the impostors win.

Additional tips:

  • You can make the game more challenging by adding more tasks or by giving the impostors more abilities.
  • You can also make the game more cooperative by allowing the crewmates to communicate with each other during the game.
  • If you have more than 6 players, you can either have multiple impostors or you can have some players be neutral characters.
